Make this year super phenomenal!
First, stop doing more of the same, because more of what’s not working action and thinking is going to keep you stuck in the past. Second we need to SHIFT our focus and our energy on what we do want.
It’s time to set big, big, big goals that carry a lot of energy. Stop being “realistic” too while we’re at it. You are the one who decides what’s realistic or not, so shift your energy and focus to making big things happen.
Move, take action, chart a path in a new direction…
And Third, we need to MOVE, to take new actions, to do something different now…
Stop giving other people control of your destiny. Your dream, your burning desire, your big, big, big goal is yours for a reason. It is unique to you. It is your calling.
You do not need anyone’s permission to fulfill your promise, your purpose, and your dream. Learn to trust your own intuition and your own gut feeling. Stop asking other people what you should do with your life.
Here’s the thing: you have a calling, you have your own gifts and talents, and you have certain things that you are uniquely suited for, so pay attention. Listen to that still small voice inside you. Hear it calling, beckoning you to step into your full potential, and to live your greatness, and make your dreams real.
Your dreams are precious and fragile. They take nurturing, faith and belief. How many times in your life have you buried a dream? Maybe someone made fun of you, or told you that you were foolish. Maybe you were just so afraid of what somebody else might think, so you never allowed that dream to see the light of day?
Stop worrying about what other people will think.
Have you ever noticed how many people are running around terrified of what other people will think, and they allow that fear to control their destiny? Well, I’ve got news for you… other people aren’t thinking about you. They are usually thinking about themselves!
You have to have faith in your own decision making ability. You have to have the courage to pursue your passion and follow your heart’s desire. You really do know what’s best for you, what path you should take, and what moves to make.
It’s not that other people don’t have your best interests at heart. It’s that YOU have a calling & unique gifts and they have a calling & unique gifts. Their calling and gifts are different than your calling and gifts.
How are they supposed to know what your destiny is or what you should do with your life? They do not know the real you.
They can’t hear your whispers within. They don’t know your deepest desires, and they don’t know what makes your heart sing, what keeps you up at night, what it is you long for, or what your dreams are.
They have their own dreams and desires. They probably think you should want the same things they want. From their perspective, they may feel you should live life their way, not your way.
Do you get it? Only you know what’s right for you. Stop asking other people what they think and what you should do with your dreams. They are not being called, you are. You are the only one who truly knows what’s best for you.
It’s a little like the flute asking the saxophone what note to play? How is the saxophone supposed to know what note the flute should play? Imagine the response! I think at least with the sax you’d get a “Hey man, play your own note!”
Good advice! When you choose to play YOUR own note, you play to your own strengths, your own talents, your own gifts. There is no sweeter sound than the music you make when you allow yourself to play the notes you were born to play.

“A True Story…
I’m sitting in a quiet room at the Millcroft Inn, a peaceful little place hidden back among the pine trees about an hour north of Toronto. It’s just past noon, late July, and I’m listening to the desperate sounds of a life-or-death struggle going on a few feet away.
There’s a small fly burning out the last of its short life’s energies in a futile attempt to fly through the glass of the windowpane. The whining wings tell the poignant story of the fly’s strategy—try harder.
But it’s not working…
The frenzied effort offers no hope for survival. Ironically, the struggle is part of the trap. It is impossible for the fly to try hard enough to succeed at breaking through the glass. Nevertheless this little insect has staked its life on reaching its goal through raw effort and determination.
This fly is doomed. It will die there on the windowsill.
Across the room, ten steps away, the door is open. Ten seconds of flying time and this small creature could reach the outside world it seeks! With only a fraction of the effort, now being wasted, it could be free of this self-imposed trap. The breakthrough possibility is there. It would be so easy.
Why doesn’t the fly try another approach? Something dramatically different? How did it get so locked in on the idea that this particular route, and determined effort, offers the most promise for success? What logic is there in continuing, until death, to seek a breakthrough with ‘more of the same’?
No doubt this approach makes sense to the fly. Regrettably, it’s an idea that will kill.
‘Trying harder’ isn’t necessarily the solution to achieving more. It may not offer any real promise for getting what you want out of life. Sometimes, in fact, it’s a big part of the problem.
If you stake your hopes for a breakthrough on trying harder than ever, you may kill your chances for success.”
Excerpted from YOU2: A High velocity Formula for Multiplying your Personal Effectiveness in Quantum Leap by Price Pritchett
If you do not have this little book, get it now! It is a must read. You can buy it here. And as some of you may have experienced, trying harder, working more, putting your nose to the grindstone, and then beating yourself up for not getting the results you want is not a winning strategy for success.
Thank goodness there is another way. Ask yourself if the techniques and strategies you have been relying on and going back to over and over again are working for you?
Why not try a different approach? The success and freedom you are seeking is right in front of you, the door is open.
What’s stopping you? Your Breakthrough Possibility is real. Let go of your old rules that have you believing that breaking the glass of the window pane is your only option.
Be open to the possibility that you are already prepared for the breakthrough, that you can make a quantum leap now.. the door is open.
Shift your focus to the open door, and concentrate your energy on a different approach that is easy, effortless and natural.
When you let go of the struggle and stop beating your head against the glass, you will discover that the freedom and success you are seeking is closer than you think.

It’s Your Choice! You are where you are in your life by choice, not by chance. You have either consciously or unconsciously chosen the results you are getting.
Your life is not happening willy-nilly without you! You may not like the results you’re getting, but you ordered up those results just the same as you would order a steak off of a menu. It’s your choice!
Right now, you may very well exclaim “But how? No way! I never would have chosen this! I would have chosen something different had I known the choice was mine!”
You can choose anything you want from that menu, and whether you are aware of it or not, it’s always been YOUR CHOICE…
In all that we do, we get to choose. We are always choosing. We choose the thoughts we think. We choose our intentions. We choose to believe we can, or we choose to believe we can’t.
We choose what we say and whom we say it to. We choose our self-talk, and we choose whether that self-talk empowers and inspires us or defeats and diminishes us. We choose our actions. We choose to have a good day or we choose to have a bad day.
We choose to be happy. We choose to be sad. We choose to be angry. We choose to be thankful. In all things, we get to choose.
And, in all that choosing, we sometimes forget that we are the ones who are doing the choosing! It is always our choice. WE CHOOSE HOW WE PLAY THE GAME OF LIFE. We choose in or we choose out.
We choose. We choose our dreams, our goals, our vision and we choose whether we pursue them or not. We choose to settle for, put up with, and tolerate or NOT. We choose to play big or we choose to play small. We choose yes or we choose no.
We choose, and what we choose, the choices we make, RULE OUR RESULTS. We live the lives we choose to live. Whether consciously or unconsciously, it’s always our choice.
And the choices we made in all our yesterdays created today, and what we choose today will create all our tomorrows.
So choose well! Become AWAKE and AWARE in your choosing. Why not choose to see your brilliance, follow your dreams, and believe in yourself?
Why not give yourself permission to choose BIGGER and BETTER, to choose FAITH over fear, and choose HAPPINESS, PEACE, JOY, LOVE and PROSPERITY, too?
And while you’re at it, why not CHOOSE GREATNESS too? After all, it’s your choice!

I want to help you make this year one without regrets. The year where you move forward in your life and your business by leaps and bounds. Let’s connect!
Fear is part of the journey that all of us experience on our way to fulfilling our heart’s desire, raising the bar and living the life of our dreams. The grip of fear in one form or another is to be expected when you step out of your comfort zone, stretch and commit to setting a higher standard for how you do life.
Since fear is part of the trip, the more we know and understand fear, the easier our journey becomes, and it helps to know you are not alone! We’re all afraid at times along the way. And to make my point, allow me to share this story with you of a flight I was on many years ago which was, to say the least, one fear inducing, panic provoking, plane ride.
You see, at that time, I was terrified of flying, suffered from panic attacks and was totally afraid of heights. So, it was with much anxiety and trepidation that I flew at all, but on this one occasion, I had convinced myself that I could do it.
And it was a smooth flight! Everything was fine..right up until the moment the Captain came on the intercom and said…
“Buckle up, we are in for some really bad turbulence from a storm up ahead.”
He said he was sorry, but we could not get around it, over it, or under it and that we could not turn back, so the only way to get out of it, our only option, was to go through it!
Go through it? I thought, NO WAY! Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Was he kidding? I did not want to go through it! And if the truth be told, well before the first bump, I was pretty much in full blown panic mode.
My massive fear of flying came roaring back. I was sure we were doomed and reacted accordingly, white knuckles clutching the seat and gasping for breath. And boy, did it get rough! We were bouncing all over the sky!
I was sitting on the aisle in the last row of seats, hanging on in sheer terror watching one of the flight attendants struggling to make her way up the aisle to the back of the plane. I remember thinking that she was only trying to get to the tail section of the plane because it was supposedly the safest place to be if we went down! (And I was certain we were going down).
It was so bumpy, and the turbulence so bad, it even knocked her off her feet a couple of times. When she finally reached me, she looked down and clearly observed my distress. With genuine concern and a sense of real urgency she put her hand on my shoulder and asked, “What’s the matter with YOU?” I gasped out, “I’m afraid we’re going to crash!!!”
I will never forget the look on her face, as she leaned down and put her face right in my face and yelled, “Well, we’re all afraid of that!!!!” And with a look that screamed “GET A GRIP!!!” she proceeded to buckle herself into her jump seat.
I was STUNNED, SHOCKED and totally taken aback! It absolutely was NOT what I expected to hear. BUT she so altered my state that she jolted me right out of my panic and fear. And, quite surprisingly, I INSTANTLY felt better. Actually, I really felt okay, and I was not terrified anymore!
Just knowing I was not alone actually made me feel better. I could breathe again! I was not alone; we were all in it together.. we were all afraid. My emotions were validated (well, maybe, not all of them).
Best of all, in just a few minutes, we broke right through the storm into beautiful clear skies and smooth air. The Captain was right! The only way out was through.
So, for whatever fear you face, whether it’s anxiety over the economy or you stretching past your comfort zone trying to take your business and/or life to the next level, please know that it’s OK to be afraid.
We are all in it together.. we’re all afraid, and the fear you are experiencing is part of the trip, so don’t let it scare you into stopping you. Instead, get a grip, hang on tight and just go through it!
And, remember this… beautiful clear skies, smooth air and the life of your dreams are waiting just up ahead.
